Sergio van Luijk is the managing partner of Rise Point Capital and the founder and strategic advisor of Cap Expand Partners, an extension of his second-generation single-family office, where he also serves as chief investment officer. With over two decades of experience in private equity fund manager selection, Sergio taps into a global network of independent sponsors to fuel strategic growth at Rise Point Capital.
Sergio’s career combines entrepreneurial ventures with deep expertise in developing growth, investment, and financing strategies for business leaders across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia. He has a solid track record in financial markets, specializing in valuations, deal structuring, corporate finance negotiations, and M&A. He has held multiple board positions and frequently speaks on family office, private equity, and M&A topics.
Before founding Cap Expand Partners, Sergio was a partner at Business Creation Investments – an Independent Sponsor – and led significant global corporate projects at PwC, Umicore, Leonardo & Co., and Bavaria, where he managed M&A and strategic growth initiatives, including go-to-market strategies. His experience spans cross-border M&A, debt/equity financing, and management buyouts, having worked in major financial centers such as Amsterdam and New York.
Sergio is a Chartered Financial Analyst with an MBA in Finance from the Rotterdam School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in International Business from the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology.
